Brooksby, Dimitrov, Fritz, Isner, Kyrgios, Nishikori and Opelka Commit to Inaugural Dallas Event

 

DALLAS (January 11, 2022) – The Dallas Open today announced the player field for the inaugural tournament which will be held February 6 – 13, 2022 at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex at SMU.

 

Australian Nick Kyrgios and ATP Newcomer of the Year Jenson Brooksby highlight the recent commitments. They will join previously announced ATP stars Grigor Dimitrov, former No. 3 player in the world; Taylor Fritz, currently the top-ranked American player; John Isner, Dallas resident and former No. 1 American player; Kei Nishikori, the top Asian men’s player in history and former World No. 4; and Reilly Opelka, top 3 American player and top 25 in the world.

 

“The excitement is building for the first Dallas Open,” said Peter Lebedevs, Dallas Open tournament director. “The early commitments of Dimitrov, Fritz, Isner, Opelka, and Nishikori have been bolstered by talented crowd favorite Nick Kyrgios, 2021 ATP Newcomer of the Year Jenson Brooksby, and additional young Americans Tommy Paul and Brandon Nakashima. Every session will have star players competing for the Dallas Open title.”

The 2022 Dallas Open marks the return of ATP Tour level tennis to Dallas for the first time in more than 30 years. The tournament will feature over 60 world-class ATP Tour professionals and be televised worldwide to more than 100 countries. It will be the only ATP Tour indoor championship in the United States, and one of only 10 total stateside events.
