FRISCO, Texas (December 3, 2024)International Tennis Hall of Fame inductees Kim Clijsters and Martina Hingis will play in the Dallas Open’s annual Women’s Tennis Classic presented by Baker Tilly to kick off the fourth year of the Dallas Open. The two players will play a three-set singles match on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 8:00 p.m. CT.

The 2025 Dallas Open, set for February 1-9, 2025, will move to the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, the headquarters and training facility of the Dallas Cowboys. The tournament will elevate its status from an ATP 250 to an ATP 500 event, promising the strongest field since the tournament's move to North Texas in 2022. This upgrade offers players the chance to earn more ATP ranking points and compete for a share of approximately $2.8 million in prize money.

“We are thrilled to have legends Kim Clijsters and Martina Hingis play in the annual Women’s Tennis Classic to start the 2025 Dallas Open,” Tournament Director Peter Lebedevs said. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to showcase women’s tennis with Martina and Kim, two of the sport’s all-time greats. It will be a perfect start to a fantastic week of top-level tennis.”

Clijsters, a four-time Grand Slam champion (U.S. Open - 3, Australian Open), won 41 WTA singles titles in her illustrious career. She won three of her four Slams after having children, one of just three players to win a Grand Slam singles title after becoming a mother. Clijsters also won the 2003 French Open and Wimbledon doubles titles and held the number-one ranking in singles and doubles simultaneously during that year.

“I’m excited to play in the Women’s Tennis Classic at the 2025 Dallas Open,” Clijsters said. “It’s an honor to share the court with a great champion like Martina Hingis. I am looking forward to playing against her once again, this time in front of the incredible tennis fans in Texas.”

Hingis, the youngest major winner in history (Wimbledon doubles - 15 years, 9 months), won 43 WTA singles titles and 64 WTA doubles titles. She won five Grand Slam singles titles (Australian Open - 3, Wimbledon, U.S. Open) during her career and captured 25 Grand Slam titles overall (13 doubles, seven mixed doubles). At 16 years and three months old, Hingis became the youngest player to ever be ranked WTA World No. 1, and she is one of the few players in history to reach the finals in all four majors in all three events (singles, doubles, mixed doubles). Hingis also won a silver medal in doubles in the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

“Being part of the Women’s Tennis Classic at the Dallas Open is such an exciting opportunity,” Hingis said. “Kim Clijsters and I have had some great battles in the past, and it’s always a privilege to step on the court with her.”

Hingis and Clijsters have played nine singles matches against each other with Clijsters winning five. Their most recent head-to-head match was a 2007 Australian Open quarterfinal won by Clijsters in three sets.

“Baker Tilly is honored to support an event that brings such iconic athletes to the forefront of the tennis world,” said Baker Tilly Texas Managing Principal Gary Boyd. “Showcasing two legendary women and their excellence in the sport is a perfect way to start tournament week.”

Single session tickets, as well as weeklong and weekend ticket packages, for the 2025 Dallas Open are available atwww.dallasopen.com. Tickets for the Women’s Tennis Classic start at $65.
